How to Use Your Essential Oils
Hello Beautiful! Did you receive essential oils for Christmas this year, but are unsure of all the different uses for them? That’s where I can help! There are so many wonderful uses for your oils and I want to make sure you get the most out of them.
With a Diffuser
An essential oil diffuser allows you to dispense the oils into the air. There are many different types of diffusers and no type is better than the other. It depends on your budget and your preferences. You can find a couple of great options at Target.
On your Skin
You can also use your oils to up your skincare game. Blend a few drops of your favorite scented oil with your daily body moisturizer, add to a carrier oil and apply or use your oils to massage and moisturize your feet or other highly stressed and impacted areas of your body.
Breathe Them In
Simply unscrew the top from your essential oil and inhale the fragrance. The scents can be inhaled for different purposes.
Peppermint & Eucalyptus: to help clear the sinuses
Lavender: to calm and soothe
Orange & Lemon: to energize
Use in the Shower or Bath
Add them to your bath, the corners of your shower, or your shower gels like shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. Depending on what you want out of your shower, you will use a different scent.

In Your Car
Energize yourself on your morning commute by adding a few drops of orange essential oil to a few cotton balls and storing them in your car overnight. Additionally, you can add a few drops of peppermint oil to cotton balls to keep in your car during the day. This will keep you awake and clear-minded on your way home.
There are so many different uses for your essential oils. They truly do have the power to improve your mood, relax you, and clear your mind. What you want to accomplish with your oils will depend on the method and the scent you choose. Below are some combinations I use:
If I want to feel energized… I take my orange essential oil and mix it with my daily moisturizer. Massaging slowly into my skin, I think about my daily affirmations and BOOM! I’m energized. Just a drop or two will do.
If I want to wind down… I draw myself a bath and add a few drops of lavender essential oil to the water along with a neutral bath bomb or epsom salt. What an amazing way to wind down at the end of my day.
If I want to clear my mind… I will grab my diffuser and add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to it. I will turn on my favorite headspace meditation and take a few moments for myself.
I hope this Part 2 guide to essential oils helped you decide how you want to use yours. I enjoy essential oils so much, I made my own collection, so if you haven’t grabbed a set for yourself yet, now is a great time because they’re on sale.
XOXO,
Tana Marie
